    *תלמידים are responsible to complete the weekly learning quotas and related assignments

  • We are authorized to administer the written מבחן לקבלה by ועד משמרת סת"ם

Full training in writing סת"ם

  • Carving & using the קולמוס (quill)

  • Priming the קלף (parchment)

  • Making שרטוט (lines)

  • Measuring & adjusting the קולמוס

  • Forming כתב אדמו"ר הזקן - צורות האותיות

  • Using a תיקון סופרים

  • Correcting mistakes

Personal guidance & attention

  • We support each תלמיד individually to ensure their success in the course and as a סופר

 

Required texts: משנה ברורה ח"א, ספר קסת הסופר, שו"ע רבינו הזקן או"ח ח"א 

Ink, quills, parchment, hardware, & all equipment

are included in the tuition.

The Course Requires:

Prerequisites

  • Wears a full beard

  • Regularly immerses in מקוה

  • Has an internet filter on ALL devices

  • Provides a כתב המלצה (recommendation letter) from ראש ישיבה or משפיע

Eligibility  

  • 17+ years of age* & male

  • Fluent in English

  • Competent in learning גמרא and רש"י

  • In Crown Heights for all classes and instruction

*With רשות from הנהלת הישיבה

Tuition

  • Full tuition: $5,700.00

  • Scholarship Fund: $750 of the tuition, bringing the cost down to $4,950.

  • Payment: Tuition can be paid up front or in installments 3 installments of $1,650.

Commitment

  • Classes take place 1 evening a week from 8:00-10:00 pm.

  • תלמידים are required to spend 1 hour a day - for a total of 6 hours a week - completing learning and practice assignments.
